The Banjo Lute dates to the late 1800s and was made by August Pollman among others.  It was often called the mandoline banjo.

We make a traditional 5-string version, strung and played like a banjo, and a 9 string version which has the sound of a bouzouki but is still played like a banjo.  These instruments work well  in an ensemble as well as an accompaniment to singing.

They are available in either maple or cherry
